HV Design Engineer (ICP)

Responsible for providing compliant and fiscally competitive electrical distribution engineering design for projects for 11kV to 132kV for ICP, Network Operator and IDNO design purposes, and any TNO interface (where required).

• Production of high quality estimations, designs, and quotes for approval and construction within time and budget
• Ensure relevant fiscal and commercial sign-off prior to submission or release
• Manage multiple stakeholder interface – including customers, landowners, developers, and management of IDNOs / DNOs
• Ensuring Network Operator standards compliance e.g. G81 compliance
• Attend any pre-construction site meetings with both customers and network operators
• Adherence to and promotion of Company systems, including OHAS, Environmental and Quality systems
• Technical and quality checking of designs produced by others
• Production of proposed project plan for delivery
• Detailed handover to project management and delivery functions
• Assisting construction team with delivery and interpretation of designs
• Assisting other team members in their training and development.

Essential

• Knowledge of distribution standards and technologies,
• Knowledge of G81 provisions
• Ability to read and understand Network diagrams and plans
• Commercial focus to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget
• Customer and quality awareness
• Good standard of IT literacy – (Office, Project and AutoCAD)
• Good written communication and verbal communication skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of generation and embedded generation connection design

Essential

• Electrical design up to 132kV
• Estimation and design of HV construction projects
• Dealing with clients, customer and Network operators, and the management of the design process
• Working to laid down Company management systems
• Handover packs to delivery and liaison throughout the project
• Working to deadlines and budgets

Desirable

• Experience of Project Management and project delivery
• ICP Connections experience
• Embedded Generation site design experience

Essential

• Minimum of HNC or HND (Level 3-4) in Electrical Engineering
• Valid driving license
